Price: $40.00 This fender is a modified original profile rear fender that may be used in conjunction with a plastic trials universal rear fender. This fender is made by wet lay up of fiberglass cloth and polyester resin on a mold made from an NOS RL250 rear fender. Attachment of this fender section utilizes the original rubber cushions, spacers, and bolts. I have the cushions and hardware on hand if needed. The universal fenders are not long enough to completely replace the original fender. A common practice has been to cut an original rear fender in half and to install the front portion using the original rubber cushions, spacers, and hardware. The universal rear fender is then attached to the aft end of the original front portion and at the frame loop extending out over the rear tire. The combination of the old and new fenders equals the length of the original fender while the junction of the two is hidden under the seat and between the side panels. The plastic trials universal fenders cannot be painted and are available in only a few colors necessitating a major departure from the original color scheme of the bike. This modified original profile rear fender is the correct length to match up with a universal rear fender eliminating the need to cut up an original fender. The photos below show how the modified rear fender mates with the plastic trials universal fenders. It is the most obvious in the photo of the red fender. The modified portion described is the forward part of the fender and the universal fender is bolted to it. Click on the photos to enlarge.
